About Mary Hynes Danielak, Psy.D.

A licensed clinical psychologist, Mary Hynes Danielak Psy.D. has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 1990. She is one of the founders of The Counseling and Development Center, which has been located in Alpharetta since 1994, and she works along side a group of multi-disciplinary clinicians.

Dr. Danielak brings a personalized, professional approach in a private setting, working with all age groups. Her approach is psychodynamic in understanding; using an interactive approach, she gains an understanding of the client's agenda and gets to the root cause of any issues. She then provides both behavioral and cognitive intervention, since understanding the issues alone is not a solution.

As part of her practice, Dr. Danielak conducts assessments and evaluations for learning disabilities such as:

    • Dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia

    • Attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder

    • Processing issues

    • Asperger’s and autism

Providing therapy and counseling for both adults and children is a large part of Dr. Danielak's practice.  Dr. Danielak has experience helping clients with a large range of issues, including:

    • Depressive disorders

    • Anxiety disorders

    • Attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder difficulties

    • Eating disorders

    • A 5-step parenting program

In addition to providing testing, assessments, and therapy, Dr. Danielak also offers Cogmed Working Memory Training. Cogmed is a research-based solution to improve working memory, attention and focus.

Dr. Danielak also provides ADHD coaching through her office.  An ADHD coach is a person who works one-on-one with a client who is facing the daily challenges of ADHD and executive functioning.
